During the war, when there were almost no Jews left in Chelm, the Germans concentrated the remainder of the Jews in the school at the city limit called "Stitiza". Fela and her friend attempted to climb out of the window of the school. At that time, the Germans screamed: "Raus, Raus" demanding that the Jews leave the school. Fela and her friend fell. Fela was captured by the Germans, but her friend lost consciousness due to her fall. The Germans didn't find her, and when she awoke, everyone was gone.
